Gynecological Procedures:

Description: NovaSure Ablation
Website: http://www.novasure.com
The NovaSure procedure is a quick, safe, simple, one-time endometrial ablation treatment. This minimally invasive procedure controls heavy bleeding by using energy to remove the lining of the uterus. The average treatment time is about 90 seconds, and only needs to be performed once to lighten or stop your periods. No pretreatment drugs are required and NovaSure can be performed in the hospital or in your doctor's office. Please visit the Novasure website at www.novasure.com for more information.

Step 1: The NovaSure bipolar electrode expands from the slender sheath to conform to the contours of the uterine cavity.

Step 2: The system insufflates the uterine cavity with CO2 to perform the cavity integrity assessment.

Step 3: NovaSure delivers bipolar RF energy for a complete and contoured ablation in approximately 90 seconds.

Step 4: The electrode array is retracted into the sheath for easy removal, leaving the uterine lining desiccated down to the superficial myometrium.
